Several major infrastructure projects are set to commence development in 2020 with the hopes of improving and upgrading the countries overall poor and aging infrastructure. Many of the projects will be focused on road and bridge work to improve the overall connectivity of major cities and provinces.
 

 

 

Vietnam Railways operates Hanoi-Beijing train from January

HCMC transport authorities have proposed the use of ODA loans to begin development of phase one of the fifth metro-line while the first and second lines still face delays. The project in its first phase will be some 8.9 kilometers long, starting from Bay Hien Intersection in Tan Binh District to Saigon Bridge.


 

 

 

 
Housing 'freeze' because of the land price list

The new land price list in HCMC has not been issued, although according to regulations of January 1, 2020, a new price table must be issued. Files related to transfer and legalization of real estate in many districts in HCMC are congested.

No bubble but land prices might increase: ministry

While there are few, if any, signs of the real estate bubble bursting in 2020, the Ministry of Construction said that land prices could increase in some areas. Those areas included planned special economic zones and new urban areas with developed technical and social infrastructure.
