IMF sees Vietnam's economic growth slowing to 6.5% in 2019

The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday said Vietnam’s economic growth was expected to slow to 6.5% in full-year 2019 from a 10-year high of 7.1% in 2018, reflecting weak external conditions. The IMF said in a statement: “The strong economic momentum is expected to continue in 2019, aided by competitive labor costs and other strong fundamentals, including a diversified trade structure, and recently signed free trade agreements which are spurring reforms”.

FLC announces new real estate brand

FLC Group announced the establishment of its real estate brand FLCHomes with four main products including Beach & Golf Resort, Residences, Retail & Office and Green Eco. FLCHomes Real Estate Investment and Development Company with key leaders who were from the group’s marketing department with an aim to create an ecosystem of property products.The FLC Beach & Golf Resort would be its key product thanks to its investment ability in building big seaside resort and golf projects nationwide. Its FLC Residences would include modern and synchronous urban areas such as FLC Tropical City Halong. FLC Retail & Office would offer office for lease and trade centres, especially new products such as hometel and officetel. FLC Green Eco would be a special product of FLCHomes with strict requirements in terms of design and construction as well as high effectiveness in using energy and materials

‘Gold’ land site near Long Thanh Airport was sold for VND 1,270 billion

In the auction, there were seven participating enterprises with a starting price of over VND 612.5 billion. Through three rounds of auction, the results of Thuan Loi Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong) had won the auction of land with the amount of nearly VND 1,270 billion. This is the most expensive public land area since the beginning of the year.

Mikazuki Hotel Group is planning to pour an additional $50 million into the second phase of the Xuan Thieu tourism area in Danang, to set up a night market next door to Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort.

Tea chain Ten Ren Vietnam to close down

Ten Ren Vietnam will close all of its 23 stores on August 15, local franchise holder Vietnam Coffee Trading Service has announced. The company, whose main business is the fast-growing The Coffee House chain, said the current business model does not conform to the needs of the customer. It will close the chain and plan an “appropriate strategy” for the sector. All employees and partners of the Ten Ren chain will be offered the chance to transfer to The Coffee House.
